I saw a list of "best comics of all time" and this was near the top. The premise sounded intriguing - some plague happens and every male (human and animal) dies, except for one man and his monkey. The story is about how society survives/changes and about that man's quest to find his fiancee on the other side of the globe. I'd say it was an entertaining read of 60 issues!
Annoyingly, though, rather than checking a few things off, it added 3 new books to my reading list: The Last Man was originally written by Mary Shelley (of Dr. Frankenstein fame) over a hundred years ago. Interesting! I'm not sure about The Day of the Locust, but Kurt Vonnegut's The Sirens of Titan seems a worthy addition to my reading list!
