Well, this wasn't on my list when I photographed my bookshelves at the end of 2015, so I either missed it, or read it before 2009. In any case, I went through a phase of being really interested in Biblical exegesis, and was particularly interested in how various translations of the Bible came about.  (Maybe this was in the 2012 - many gospels era... anyway...)

This is a great little book about how to actually dig into the Bible and pull out valuable meaning. It talks about the different styles of writing and also about the translation process - so there are times where you don't have to get all worked up about a particular word (and other times when you really should...).

It's been a long time since I've read this; I should probably go through it again. It's still on my shelf!
