First question - do you consider plays as fiction or nonfiction? I guess they're fiction unless they're based on fact, but it's such a different genre that I feel compelled to write this down as nonfiction.
Now! This was technically a graphic novel, but not until I finished the whole thing did I realize it was actually the complete original text from the play. There's a whole series of 'Classical Comics' that produce things like Shakespearean plays in graphic novel format, often creating two or three versions: Original Text, Plain English, and Quick Text. Well, I definitely was reading the original text! The artwork certainly helped carry the story, much like actually seeing it acted out would do. I wouldn't say I fully understood everything, but at least the overall gist of the story made sense - which is more than I can say for most times I've tried to sit down and read a Shakespeare play straight through.
