Somehow, reading the description of the book, I thought I was going to be reading about the sinister, secret world of corporate candy making. Instead, it was mostly a set of tales about independent candy makers, how they make their goods, and how, sadly, most of the process has been taken over by the big three: Mars, Hershey's and Nestle. If anything, it did make me want to examine some lower shelves the next time I'm choosing something to munch on.
