I see what you're doing Amazon. This isn't the first 352-page book I've added. What gives?

Oh, about the book. I realized I've been slamming non-fictions for awhile, and it's hard to find good (to me, at least) non-fiction books in Amazon's Kindle Owners' Lending Library, so I figured I'd go through a top-rated science fiction novel. Whoa. I forgot how fast I read novels when I really get into them. I haven't actually read fiction in non-audiobook for awhile, since I like being able to highlight/etc on the Kindle.

Oh, about the book. I was expecting some less-than-polished writing, since it seemed this was a new author. I'm pretty forgiving and enjoyed the book anyway, so I don't know if it really was simple writing, I have a simple mind, or the writing wasn't as bad as I expected. But the story was phenomenal.

I had to roll my eyes at some of the conclusions brought up at different points in the book ("there is obviously no God and no afterlife"), but then the Epilogue cleared up (or should I say... 'uncleared' it up) in a pretty satisfactory way.

I'm looking forward to the sequel. Too bad I have to wait until April to check out a new book. Oh... wait... that was why I chose a novel instead of another nonfiction... so I'd have some time to get through my backlog of other books.
