The premise of the book was to continue the Rama series, but it seems to take place between the 1st and 2nd books. However, right at the end we seem to encounter a character from the 4 Rama book, but that takes place many years later. I'm so confused!  At least there's a second book that might clear up some answers.

Why is it that I can buzz through fiction books so crazy fast, but nonfiction books (sometimes) take me so long? Hmm.

In any case, this book was a little interesting because while it was science fiction, it was also centered largely around a post-Catholic religion; a nun in particular who is very devout in her beliefs and slowly makes a believer out of a scientific engineer who seems a lot like me. Born Lutheran, more questions than answers and a lot of doubt and skepticism.

I'm interested to see where the 2nd book leads.
