Not sure where I heard the quote, but it was a story about how the "Nice guys finish last" statement came about. It mentioned that there's a whole book about mis-remembered, mis-attributed, and just mangled quotes throughout history. It sounded like a fun read, so I picked it up and zipped through it.

Wow, it's a thorough collection! Many of the quotes I didn't recognize, but then again, I'm not exactly a quote affectionado. Still, it's going to make me question any quote purported to be by Yogi Berra or Mark Twain.
