Series: Wayward Pines
*gasp* I took a day off (according to KOReader's neat calendar view). But then I finished this one in practically one sitting.
Where the last two took place over longer periods of time, I think this one was... a single day?? The last chapters were some PS activities that took place later, but the bulk of the action was just overnight. And a lot of death. But again, not really anybody that we had learned to care for.
I could've done without the weird infidelity / love triangle scenario with the whole "I can't help who I love; I love them but I also love you; but they love me better; but I'm committed to you" shenanigans. But it didn't take up TOO much of the plot.
I will say the ending surprised me, though maybe because I was reading too quickly to ponder an option C. It seemed like only 2 choices presented themselves, but realistically, the choice they made was probably the most logical one (if there IS any logic in the idea that the needed infrastructure to keep all of this going really would have survived as long as it needed to; a lot of that was just magically glossed over - and that's fine; it wasn't the point of the story ... though they did seem to try to cover some of the "explanational" bases, so maybe I should go a bit harder on them...him...the author; did I mention my mind has been extra scrambled lately?).
Anyway - fun quick fictional series that got me back into my Kindle. I hope I didn't burn out too quickly and can pick something else up to continue this very enjoyable upgraded reading experience.
