Series: Wayward Pines
Having recently Jailbroken my Kindle and discovered the excellent KOReader application, I thought I'd try to pick up a new series that for some reason was on my recommended list (in my personal knowledge base; alas I didn't record WHERE I got the recommendation from - sigh). It was a good one, since I got through all 3 books in less than a week (so sayeth the awesome calendar view in KOReader).
This was a great sci-fi mystery as you tried to figure out what was going on. I had a few theories, some of which were close, but none of which I'll share for fear of spoiling the plot! Although, the setting was pretty much explained in the 1st book with the 2nd two just continuing the story (in ever and ever shorter spans of time).
I was a little afraid that this was going to go uber-gruesome (a la Under the Dome which sort of broke me for a bit) and while there was definitely some graphic battles with monsters (I'll leave it at that), it was pretty easily skimmable, and not nearly as heartbreaking as Under the Dome (although, maybe that's a spoiler?).
