A recent book sale at a library with a free-will donation had me add quite a few books that looked interesting to my collection. Being a bit bummed after the last one, I thought I'd try this (since, hey, I do like music...).
Unfortunately, though the murder investigation / mystery / conspiracy / whatever aspect was somewhat pleasing, I couldn't get over the constant drug use (apparently drugs are free in this society). And the main strange sticking point of this futuristic society was that noone besides inquisitors (essentially the police) or private inquisitors (like private investigators, like our main character) is allowed to ask any questions. It's considered beyond rude and even the questions of our character ruffle feathers of people who are not used to answering them.
I suppose as a sci-fi setting, it's an interesting approach, but I have a hard time seeing how a society functions like that. Maybe it requires a lot of drugs...
