Cool: How Air Conditioning Changed Everything - Salvatore Basile

As a fellow dance parent mentioned, I read the strangest things! Picked this one up off the library's new shelf and really enjoyed it.

The book really delivered on telling the history of air conditioning, and how it really struggled to take off (partially due to the Victorian attitudes of the late 19th century that prohibited "decent" folk from complaining about being too hot).

It did seem to end too abruptly, covering the last half century in just a few pages, and it didn't really talk about air conditioning's problems except for saying it was likely responsible for several brownouts/blackouts and maybe, just maybe, contributing to the heating of our planet.

Still, as a history book, it was quite a fun read.
