Books Read in 2009

Pastor Brian just mentioned reading books as a good means of continuing education. I've been reading a lot, though I'm not exactly sure what I'm reading. I meant to keep track in 2009, so how about here... I listen to some audio books, read some on my pocket PC, and read some normally, so that's what the src column is for. The F/NF one should be self-explanatory. Maybe I should put a date in here...

Ahh... I'm such a nerd. The booklist is now PHP based with a database backend, just like the 555-List! And the summary appears in a cool lightbox window!

555 Directory

My personal version of the 555-List which I see has actually been updated recently (relatively speaking). I once started keeping my own list of these before I realized there was a much more comprehensive website. Well... for now, I'll keep my own personal list... and maybe keep updating it! (Psst... it's sortable, too! You just can't tell because I resist CSS on ths website... uh, despite the fact that the book grid now uses CSS. D'oh! Maybe I'll enhance this later). Newly-added entries may already be on the un-official 555-List page, but I try to add more details if possible. Plus... I would've added them to my own list anyway.

If the added-on date is blank, that probably just means it was there when I created the original list, probably somewhere around 2000.

Awesome! This was becoming a bear to maintain, so I took my l33t programming skillz and created an SQL database for it. Much easier to edit data, and I can start to do some fun stuff with it if it gets too large.

Freecell Games I've Won

This is an ancient file from 1998. I had started a list of each freestyle game I had won, with the crazy ambition of winning them all at some point. Then I realized how many different games there were... Maybe when I retire... (You know... we always joked about keeping a list of things my dad said he'd do when he retired. Maybe I should start doing the same thing. And this would be the perfect place for it!)

(June, 2009) - So... interesting. The original FreeCell had 32000 games, and big web rings have already played all of them except 11982. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do. Especially since there are now one million in Windows, and over 8 billion using high seed numbers.
